This artwork is an ode to the feminine - the vulva and vagina, the opening to the creative portal of the womb. It features hieroglyphic-inspired language scattered throughout, accompanied by the symbolic presence of the snake.

An artwork born from grief and surrender. Death Till Mother was created following my experience of abortion and the emotional process of letting go and repair.

This piece speaks to the polarity of holding both truths at once. While it was a clear and grounded decision, my body still grieved the loss of the life that could have been. This artwork was created after receiving a Closing of the Bones ceremony - a ritual of release, integration, and final letting go.

This artwork is born from my relationship with my own womb, and my journey of healing the disconnection from my cyclical nature.

Through that reconnection, I experienced both the cosmic qualities of the womb and its deep earthiness. It’s also inspired by the sense that the womb carries an ancient knowing - woven through the generations: through my mother, her mother, and the women who walked this earth before me.

This piece is inspired by remembrance.

Created for ROOTS Embodiment Festival 2026, this artwork was selected for their womb art competition and now features on one of the festival tote bags in support of QENDO Australia.
